BCG Summer Camp | 5–8 years | Weekly, Monday–Friday | 9:00 am–3:30 pm
A classic summer camp experience in the heart of the San Francisco Financial District!
2017 marks 21 wonderful summers of Kids' Camp! Located in downtown San Francisco, our facilities provide a beautiful outdoor setting for great summer fun. Every member of our qualified and energetic staff helps provide an amazing camp experience with a variety of safe and exciting activities. We feature small groups (10–12 campers), organized according to age, that rotate through five daily segments of camp with their dedicated Group Leader. Campers will have fun learning new skills, making new friends, and being the best they can be in a non-competitive environment!
Activity periods include the following for all sessions (regardless of the weekly theme):

TENNIS: Our Tennis Professionals will lead the kids in supportive, active instruction including forehand, back hand, serves and more. A balanced blend of drills and games keeps the kids engaged developing a love for the sport.

SWIMMING: Every camper enjoys pool time, whether your child is a beginner or swim team ready they will receive tailored professional instruction. We give your child the opportunity and direction to develop their stroke, increase their confidence and foster this life long skill.

SKATEBOARDING: 6–8 years | A camp favorite for years, skateboarding has become our most popular rotation with boys and girls. Campers are taught the importance of safety gear and proper skating technique. Beginners start with a kick flipper (board with no wheels), which is an excellent way to build confidence, learn balance, footwork, and coordination basics. The fundamentals of skateboarding translate to snowboarding and water sports as well. We practice safe skating, all skaters are fitted with helmet, wrist guards, elbow pads and knee pads.
In lieu of skateboarding 5 year olds will have story time in the park.

SPORTS AND GAMES: Utilizing the vast greenery of nearby Sue Bierman park campers enjoy a variety of sporting games. Inclusion, team work and support are the backbone of this rotation, keeping sports fun without the pressure of competition.

Lunch and snacks may be brought from home (no nuts, please) or campers may enroll in our daily lunch program, which is included in the cost of camp. On Fridays, we'll fill the day up with special activities including a fresh BBQ lunch, a secret surprise, plus there's always a good chance of water balloons rocketing through the sky at any moment! The excitement continues at the Pavilion where we meet our family and friends for a memorable camper made go-pro video presentation of all the good times we've shared at Camp together.

Price Includes: Skilled instruction in a variety of sports and activities, daily lunch plus morning and afternoon snacks, and a commemorative summer kids camp T-shirt. Special Friday fun day treats, activities, surprise guests, and more!

Counselor In Training Volunteer Program | Weekly, Monday–Friday | 13–15 years
Sadly, all campers must grow up.  But volunteering as a Counselor In Training (C.I.T.) can be a great way to transition from camper to counselor by learning job related skills for the future, demonstrating leadership, acting as a mentor, sharing responsibility, and strengthening communication. CIT’s lead by example, they engage, participate and assure all campers are having a great experience. Bay Club at the Gateway Summer Camps offer volunteers an opportunity to gain experience and enrich the community they live in at the same time. As a C.I.T. you will join one of California’s premier lifestyle hospitality clubs, earn community service hours when applicable, and can also request a letter of recommendation from the Director, upon meeting qualifications. As a C.I.T. you will spend time with campers, ages 3–12, supporting games and activities organized by camp staff.  Responsibilities include active participation in the following: tennis, swimming, skateboarding, arts & crafts, and team-building group games, in addition to supporting the day-to-day operations of the Camps. All volunteers are required to participate in our two day mandatory training program. Upon completion of the training program the CIT will be certified in first aid, CPR, and AED. The course will also include emergency preparedness, conflict resolution, bullying prevention and basic water safety.
*CIT Volunteers must commit to a minimum of two consecutive week sessions. Sessions are Monday–Friday every week from June 5–September 8, 2017

Members $275 | Guests $325

This is a one-time fee to participate in the CIT program regardless of the number of volunteer weeks.

SAFETY FIRST!

The Bay Club is committed to providing the safest environment possible for all Campers. Here are just a few of our safety practices

  • All of our Camp Counselors are background checked, and CPR trained
  • Upon check-in, each camper will be given a color-coded wristband that will help identify their Camp group as we travel throughout the Club
  • Campers are adequately supervised when going to and from the bathroom, and will be provided assistance when needed.
  • Campers will change after swimming inside our Boy's and Girl's Family Locker Rooms. If assistance is needed during changes, a Camp Counselor will provide help.
  • At maximum capacity our Counselor to Camper ratio is 12:1 for ages 4+ and 8:1 for ages 2–4. Throughout the day, the ratio may decrease, depending on the activity.
  • We understand that swimming may bring up concerns for parents. During our free swim, your child is in great hands with our CPR/First Aid Certified Camp Team, at a ratio of 1:5. During group lessons each Certified Swim Instructor will be teaching a group lesson to five campers, while a Camp Counselor monitors the lessons from the pool deck. At the end of each week you will receive a Swim Assessment from your child’s Counselor.
  • If someone other than you or your spouse will be picking up a camper, please indicate this on your registration form and add them to the authorized pick up section on your parent dashboard.  If it is last minute please let us know at drop-off. We will require a Bay Club Campsite pin number from anyone picking up your child and will contact you immediately if there are any concerns.
  • Throughout the summer, all Counselors are required to participate in interactive safety drills that directly relate to children in Camp. Whether it’s a bee sting, a food reaction or another medical emergency, you can rest assured that your camper is in safe and knowledgeable hands.

Enrollment/Cancellation Guidelines:

  • A non-refundable deposit of 25% of your total Camp fees will be charged at the time of enrollment.
  • The balance of each session will be charged two weeks prior to each session.
  • Camp cancellations must be made in writing to the Camp Director.
  • Camp cancellations must be made at least 14 days prior to the start of the session to avoid being charged in full (unless you request to reschedule the camp session).
  • If you wish to reschedule a camp session, you must do so by submitting a written request to the Camp Director.
  • Once we receive your request, you will be sent a confirmation email.
  • Camp fees are non-refundable once your camp session begins.
